Sparkles is a magic cat powered by 4 DC motors and a servo. We are able to communicate with Sparkles with a remote control and an ArduinoUNO.

Letter tiles are squares, elevated 1/8" above ground.

Teams should make words using letter tiles in their safe zone or on the game field. Letter tiles may be part of multiple words, just like in Scrabble.

Red Robot 2022's game was to design, build, and program a robot to play a modified version of Scrabble®.

Robots will gather letter tiles scattered throughout the field to try and form words in their “home base.” At any point, teams can submit their words for scoring, where a judge will tally up all words formed, remove those letter tiles from the field, and replace them with new ones. The goal is to have the highest score by the end of the game!
